As my children get older and older, they seem to make bigger and bigger messes. My husband and I have been trying to teach our children the value of working and helping with the chores around the house. To help organize the house cleaning and to teach my kids responsibility, I created a free printable job chart for my own personal use AND to share with you!
I included the basic tasks of cleaning up the dishes after dinner and getting the kitchen cleaned up. Next to each task is a blank line where I’ll write the name of each child who will be helping out with that job, and then one little circle for each day of the week for them to fill in the bubble when they’ve completed their jobs.
You can either print out a new chart each week, or print and laminate just one chart so that you can reuse it week after week with a dry erase pen. Whatever is easiest for you!

And speaking of easy, even though my kids aren’t the best dish rinsers yet, I know that my dishes will STILL get sparkly clean because I buy Finish dishwasher cleaner, specifically the Quantum™ Power & Free.™
I love it because it leaves my dishes sparkling clean with amazing shine, and I (or the kids) don’t even have to pre rinse!
It’s three-chamber capsule features powerful cleaning ingredients with Hydrogen Peroxide Action to attack the toughest food stains and leave a brilliant shine, all while using less harsh chemicals. Woo hooo! As with all cleaners, make sure to supervise when letting children handle the product.
I first learned about Finish dishwasher cleaner when I ask my mom how her dishes came out of the dishwasher so clean when mine were always spotted. She gave me some of hers to try, and I’ve been hooked ever since!
I buy my Finish dishwasher soap at Walmart when I’m already there shopping, which makes it very convenient. It’s in the aisle with the dish and dishwasher soap.
Right now you’re in luck, because Walmart has a Rollback for the product going until October that you can pair with a coupon for amazing savings!
Clean dishes + saving money = score!
So what are your tips and tricks for getting your kids to help keep the house clean? I’d love to hear them!
