Today I’m sharing the cutest little cupcake cake bunting that you ever did see. I mean, how can you go wrong with cupcakes and bunting put together?
To make this cute cupcake cake bunting I pulled out my Sizzix Big Shot (you should know by now that I love this die cutting machine) and the new Sizzix Triplits Cupcake die set. I love this set because you can mix and match different sizes and types of frosting, baking cups, toppings, and more… SO cute!
To make each cupcake, I took my magnetic platform, then stacked a cutting pad, a piece of colored card stock (either glittery pink, white, or turquoise), the cupcake die, and then another cutting pad. I turned the handle on the Big Shot to cut the paper, and out came my die cut cupcake pieces.
I made lots of different pieces in the three colors that I was using, and then layered and mixed and matched to my heart’s content until I had a handful of cute color-coordinated cupcakes.
To customize the cupcakes even further, I used Tim Holtz’s Alphanumeric alphabet dies (using the same process above) to spell out the word “happy”, with one letter per cupcake. This is another great way to customize this bunting so that it says what ever you would like it to say. You can also choose colors that coordinate with your party so that the cake fits right in with the rest of your party decor.
To make the bunting, I simply put a dot of hot glue onto the top back of each cupcake. When I’m ready to put it on my cake, I’ll tie each end onto thin wood sticks.
Now they’re ready to go into the cake! AND, I just looked at the preview of this post and realized that the colors I chose are the EXACT same colors in my header design at the top of the page…. I must realllyyyy like these colors, haha.
