Today I’m sharing some creative Christmas ornament storage ideas that I came up with a couple of years ago. HGTV recently shared my ideas and photos on their website (you can check it out here), so I thought it would be a great time to share them again with you!
I love these ornament storage ideas because they are easy, are a great way to recycle, and are FREE! You can’t beat free, right?!
TIP #1 Use plastic apple packaging to store large ornaments.
If you have ever bought apples at Costco, you know that they come in the plastic packaging. I hated throwing the packaging away, so I came up with this clever use for it! The round portion of the plastic keeps those fragile bulb ornaments nice and safe, and you can easily stack sets of the packaging in a large plastic box for easy, organized storage, all while helping save the environment too! Now aren’t you smart.
TIP #2 Use egg cartons to store smaller ornaments.
Another great way to store your ornaments is by placing them inside the openings inside egg cartons. This works perfectly for those smaller bulb ornaments, as well as any other ornaments that you want to keep nice and safe.
Egg cartons also stack well, and cost you nothing!
I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative and to reuse some of the things that you might otherwise throw away.
Here’s another one of my favorite (and most popular!) posts on how to reuse silica gel packets that come in your shoe containers, vitamin bottles, etc. There are TONS of reader ideas in the comments, too, so be sure to check those out!
