Every holiday season my kids look forward to decorating gingerbread houses, which got me thinking… Why should the kids have all the fun? I created this fun gingerbread house making party for the hard-working mamas who need a break from the stresses of the season!
A gingerbread house making party is a great way to get together with your girlfriends, eat some yummy snacks, and chat while decorating cute gingerbread houses. Today I’ll show you how to put together a gingerbread house decorating party, and all you’ll need to set it all up.
I was inspired by the new Glade® Tree Lighting Wonder™ and Candy Sprinkling Joy™ candles and PlugIns® air fresheners I found at Ralphs, my local Kroger store.
Tree Lighting Wonder™ fragrance smells just like a cozy night by the tree and fir needle, spruce, and eucalyptus.
The Candy Sprinkling Joy™ fragrance has the sweet playful scent of red berries, pomegranate, and sugar, which is the perfect scent for a gingerbread house making party!
Gingerbread House Making Party Details
I set up two separate areas for the gingerbread making party. The first area was a table all set up with the gingerbread houses already assembled, one per person, and LOTS of sweet treats to decorate the houses with.
Each person had their own place setting with their gingerbread house, a squeeze bottle filled with royal icing for the “glue” for the candies, a cute glitter Santa hat, and a little party favor gift inside the cutest red and white striped boxes.
Two small muffin tins were filled with a variety of candy for decorating- gumdrops, sour cherry balls, holly leaf and berry sprinkles, green and red mints, and more. I made sure to have extra candy on hand for nibbling too!
I found some cute matching paper plate sets with a scallop border that looked adorable on the table.
I wrapped some gingerbread house scrapbook paper over the middle of the frosting bottles to add some color and fun to the table.
Of course a gingerbread house decorating party wouldn’t be complete without treats, so I set up a little treat station on a large tray I had. I stacked a white scallop cake plate onto a larger red scallop cake plate to create two tiers of treats.
In the center of the station were the cutest red and green cupcakes and toppers that match the paper plates on the gingerbread making table. Those little Santas are my favorite! Underneath the cupcakes were “snowballs,” aka white powder donut holes.
Mini cinnamon rolls and chocolate cookies were ready to be nibbled on, white Santa and his reindeer kept watch on each side of the station on two red and white scallop cake plates. They match the paper plates and cupcake toppers too!
We had such a fun time at our gingerbread house making party! I’m so glad that I assembled all the gingerbread houses ahead of time so everyone could focus on the fun part- decorating the houses!
The Glade® products really made the party feel like the holidays with those amazing holiday scents. I can’t wait to enjoy them throughout the rest of the holiday season!
