You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen…. but do you recall the most famous reindeer of all? It’s Rudolph of course, and today we’re celebrating the most famous reindeer with a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer party!
Our Rudolph party is based on the classic 1964 Christmas movie, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. My grandma’s cousin was Burl Ives, the narrator and the voice of Sam The Snowman, so this movie has always had a special place in my heart.
My friends at Oriental Trading Company sent me some amazing Rudolph supplies to make our party extra special. I’m so excited to share with you our fun Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer party. Enjoy!
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Party
Because this party is based on a classic Christmas movie, it’s the perfect party theme for adults who have fond memories of watching the movie as a child every year, as well as kids today who still and know and love the beloved characters.
Rudolph and Santa two of my favorites, so I placed a giant cardboard stand-up of the two behind our party table so they were the main focus of the party.
Throughout a lot of the movie there is a colored outdoor background with snow, so I recreated that with our blue background and some diy snowflakes I made. The iridescent glitter I added to the snowflakes made them look icy and sparkly!
I also strung some glitter snowflakes from a dowel and hung above the party table to symbolize the big snowstorm that happened in the movie that almost stopped Santa from delivering presents one year. That is, before Rudolph stepped in and saved the day!
I just had to represent another favorite character of mine from the movie, Bumble, the abominable snow monster. He’s featured on top of a giant glacier cupcake stand filled with icy white and blue frosted cupcakes.
On top of each cupcake I added small white snowflake sprinkles, as well as some cute cupcake picks featuring some of the beloved characters from the movie- Yukon Cornelius, Rudolph, and Clarice.
Those little elf lollipop faces are too cute with their little rosy cheeks!
Another glass apothecary jar was filled with red packs of gummy Rudolph noses.
Santa buttercream mints were scattered along the base of the jars on a wood slice platter.
White chocolate covered pretzel snowflakes looked pretty (and tasted pretty delicious) scattered on a stack of matching red and white cake platters. Another sparkly glitter snowflake stood in the middle of the treats.
Two white double stacked cake platters were the perfect home for some mini blue frosted cupcakes with snowflake sprinkles and more chocolate pretzel snowflakes. Of course I had to add more Rudolph cupcake picks to a few of the cupcakes.
On the bottom cake plate were some delicious soft sugar cookies that matched the white with green and red polka-dotted cupcake wrappers perfectly!
Pretty snowflake favor boxes on ice blue matching platters on either side of the table mirrored the other snowflakes throughout the party.
Another awesome way to show your guests you care is to send them home with treats!
For easy cupcake boxes, I cut the plastic cupcake packaging that the undecorated cupcakes came in, then placed them inside the Rudolph treat boxes. They fit perfectly and kept the cupcakes from moving and getting smashed inside the box. I can’t wait to do this new trick again with other parties!
I also used the same trick for some party cookie favors. I cut the plastic cookie packaging so that I could fit a row of sugar cookies inside some of the boxes for guests to take home.
Again, they were a perfect fit inside the Rudolph treat boxes!
The Rudolph boxes were also great for holding some cute fabric Santa canvas drawstring bags. Guests could grab a bag a bag and fill with candy and Rudolph character finger puppets from the table to snack on and take home with them. Just fold in the top parts of the box to make this cute favor bag holder.
I hope you enjoyed this Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer party as much I enjoyed putting it together! It’s a wonderful classic Christmas movie that has brought smiles to families for decades, and I know that it will continue to do so for many decades to come.
