I recently made a really cute under the sea gift tag, and I thought I would share the fun tutorial with you!
This under the sea gift tag uses some of the same nautical dies I used in the ocean box party favor I made, and is perfect for summer gift giving or an under the sea or ocean birthday party favor. So many possibilities!
Under the Sea Gift Tag
- Sizzix Big Shot Machine
- Sizzix Magnetic Platform
- Sizzix Mint Standard Cutting Pads
- Sea Animal Sentiments Sizzix Framelits Die Set 3PK w/Stamps
- Seaweed, Coral & Wave Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3PK
- Sizzix Framelits Die Set 8PK – Tag Collection
- White cardstock
- Green cardstock (2 different greens)
- Turquoise cardstock
- Adhesive & pop dots
- Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spritz
First, set up your Sizzix sandwich by stacking the magnetic platform, a cutting pad, green cardstock, the coral die, and the other cutting pad.
Roll it all through the Big Shot to cut the paper. Repeat for the green seaweed and the turquoise dolphin.
Use the same process to cut a white tag with the second to largest tag die in the Sizzix Framelits Die Set.
I sprayed the seaweed and coral with Hedi Swapp’s Color Shine Spray in Chartreuse. The specks of color gives them some nice texture and a little bit of shimmer.
Then I glued the seaweed and coral onto my tag so that they overlapped and hung over the bottom of the tag.
I used my scissors to cut off the extra from the bottom.
I used pop dots to adhere the dolphin over the seaweed to add more dimension to the tag.
This tag looks really cute on a galvanized bucket, but could also work on present, a gift tag, on party favors, etc. The bucket and gift tag would make a great gift if filled with popcorn, candy, or a present!
