In just a few days it’s back to school time for us.
Gone will be the lazy mornings, replaced with rushed mornings of lunch packing, homework gathering, and breakfast making.
I am always on the lookout for a quick and easy healthy breakfast for my family and I.
Today I’ve got a delicious breakfast idea to share with you- a chocolate peanut butter smoothie!
For chocolate lovers like me, chocolate for breakfast is a dream come true.
And adding peanut butter to the mix?
It’s pure heaven, but without the guilt.
Healthy ingredients like milk, cocoa powder, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, and honey all come together to make this tasty breakfast drink that is filled with protein.
I’ve been trying to add more healthy protein to my kids’ diets, as well as my own, and this drink is packed with it.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
- 2 cups milk (I used nonfat)
- 1 5.3 oz small container vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 Tbsp. peanut butter
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1- 1 1/2 Tbsp. honey
- 10 ice cubes
Blend all the ingredients together in a blender and serve.
Makes 3-4 servings.
Of course you can adjust this recipe how you’d like to suit your family’s needs and taste.
If it’s too sweet, you can cut back on the honey, or even use a banana instead for a chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie… YUM!
If you are a peanut butter, then just add more.
Whatever variation you make, you can be sure that this protein-packed chocolate peanut butter smoothie will give you and your family the protein they need to start their day, and it just takes a few minutes to make.
Perfect for those crazy school day mornings that are almost here!
