Happy Wednesday! Today I’m sharing a sweet little holiday card with you that I made using my Sizzix Big Shot and some of the new Brenda Walton dies.
One of my favorite things about this card is the library card pocket that the card fits into. This card is a breeze to put together, which is perfect for our busy days this month!
Holiday Pocket Card
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Sizzix Bigz XL Die- Library Pocket
- Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 23PK – Lanterns
- Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die – Antiqua Numbers
- Sizzix Extended Cutting Pads
- Sizzix Magnetic Platform
- Red card stock
- Patterned holiday paper and stickers
Step 1. Die cut the card and library pocket using the Library Pocket die. Do this by making a Sizzix sandwich with a cutting pad on the bottom, the die face up, the paper, and the other cutting pad on the top. Roll it all through the Big Shot and set the card and pocket aside.
Step 2. Cut out the ribbon/banner shape from the Lanterns die set by stacking the Magnetic Platform, a cutting pad, paper, the die, and then another cutting pad on top. Roll through the Big Shot.
Step 3. Glue the pocket together by folding the tabs and adding some adheisve. Cut strips of holiday paper and glue to the front of the pocket for variety.
Step 4. To decorate the card, glue the ribbon/banner shape you cut to the top right corner of the card. Add a sticker or embellishment over the top. Add another sticker to the left if desired. I added a cute snowman.
Step 5. Cut out the numbers “2” and “5” using the Antiqua Numbers die. Glue onto the front of the pocket. Embellish with a candy cane if desired.
Now just write your message to the recipient on the card that you’ve made, and you’ve got a thoughtful homemade card that someone will love to receive!
