I love my dining room and the way that we have it set up, but after 15 years of living in our home with many of the same decorations, it was definitely time for a change!
To mix up the dining room a bit and to add some more color to the room, I decided to redo a small wall area in between our hutch cabinets and our front windows.
I removed the frames that were on the two brown crown molding shelves, and decided to start from scratch.
Here’s the before picture. I definitely needed some color.
To add some color to the space, I started with my two large pieces for the shelves- two of the new Command Décor Damage-Free Wall Tiles. These tiles are very cool because they use Command™ Picture Hanging Strips to adhere to the wall without damaging them.
On the bottom shelf I used my favorite gold dipped bottle vase filled with flowers, my cute metal jack, and the bright sunny wall tile.
On the top shelf, I hung a sweet bird Command Décor Damage-Free Wall Tile, then added a piece of driftwood to the base of the hanging tile. I love that it looks like a branch that the bird might land on.
A yellow pineapple candle (that you might remember from my outdoors post where I showed how to decorate your outdoor space for summer) ties in the small bits of yellow in the bird artwork to the yellow artwork on the bottom shelf.
The directions are in the package, and the tiles are so simple to hang.
It’s really easy to customize your arrangements with Command Décor and switch the artwork out as often as you’d like. It was easy for me to create a new look with new tiles. I kept basically the same arrangement, but used different tiles for a whole new look.
The bottom tile is also a whiteboard, which will be great for us to write notes to each other or write out our favorite quotes.
There are 30+ different tile designs, so you can easily decorate spaces for any season, occasion, or just to match your own personal style. Since the front piece is magnetic, to switch up the artwork all you have to do is to remove the tile, and place on the new tile.
What space in your home would you like to redecorate?
