Valentine’s Day Party with Target One Spot Items

Raise your hand if you are addicted to checking the One Spot items at Target every time you go shopping?  Are both hands raised?  Great, you’re in good company, and this Valentine’s Day party post is especially for you!

Right now at Target, for a limited time, American Crafts (the ultimate brand in cute scrapbooking and paper goods) has a line of incredible Valentine’s Day products in the Target One Spot- over 40 products!  There are so many cute items to choose from- everything from stickers to washi tape to chalkboard basics and more, and all priced from just $1-$3.

Aren’t they adorable?  I had so many different things that I wanted to make with my new products that I decided to incorporate a handful of them in a cute Valentine’s Day party.  It was SO easy to use these supplies for cupcake toppers, jar embellishments, and more.

Here are all the fun details…

Bow Tie Cupcake Toppers:

These tiny little bows reminded me of a boy getting dressed up in a bow tie to go out with his valentine.  I knew they would make perfect cupcake toppers, so I just stuck each bow (they already had adhesive on them) onto a toothpick, and voila!

 Almost instant cute cupcake topper, perfect for the big day.  I found these mini cupcakes at Target too, and they matched everything perfectly!

Heart Flag Cupcake Toppers:

I loved the colorful tiny heart stickers on one of the American Crafts sticker sheets, so I took some white electrical tape I had left over from this football party, and wrapped a piece around a red straw with white hearts (also from AC and in the Dollar Spot) near the top.

I cut the straw in half, placed a small heart onto each flag, then stuck into the mini cupcakes for more Valentine’s cuteness.  I also added a sticker to the bottom of the cake stand, just for fun!

Apothecary Jar Decorations:

Dressing up some plain apothecary jars was a piece of cake.  First I wrapped a strip of the cute “Happy Valentine’s Day” washi tape around each jar.  I removed two of the wood chalkboard  circles from the clothespins they were attached to, and added a decorative dimensional heart sticker to the center of each.  All the items were from American Crafts in the One Spot area at Target, and added so much to the table!

 Large glass Jar Bunting:

I filled a large gallon-size glass jar full of red Valentine hearts candies, but it needed something else to make it stand out.  I took two heart straws, and tied a piece of string between them.  I cut around some flag stickers (to remove the backing as well as the stickers), and arranged the stickers across the string.  To make sure they stayed put, I added the backs of the stickers that I had just cut.

I also added one of the wood chalkboard clothespins to the top of each straw, and added a heart sticker to each.  Now I had a simple cute banner to place inside the candy!

Cupid’s Arrow Heart Treats:

Here’s another great use for those cute heart straws!  Cut a straw into fourths at an angle, and stick one piece into each side of a purchased heart brownie (found at Target).  Add a heart sticker to the end of the arrow.  Now you can tell that Cupid has left his mark on your table!
