Thank you World Market for sponsoring our Ghoulishly Gothic Halloween Dinner Party. As always, all ideas and opinions are 100% my own.
Halloween signals the start of the holiday season for me and is definitely one of my favorite holidays! Today I’m sharing a ghoulishly Gothic Halloween dinner party to give you some frightfully fun ideas for hosting your own Halloween party.
I have so many happy memories of trick or treating as a child with my family, sorting through lots of candy and organizing it into piles, then trading with my sisters and brother. Every year I get ready for Halloween by decorating with our favorite Halloween decorations, making caramel apples with my kids, and creating a fun Halloween party.
To get ready for our gothic Halloween dinner party, I did some shopping at my local La Mesa World Market (you can find your local store with the store locator). I found tons of Halloween decor, Halloween entertaining items, and food and drinks that were perfect for our party!
I covered the table with a black tablecloth I had to add to the dark Gothic theme.
Each place setting was set with a white plastic plate, a black Baroque melamine plate, a black wine glass filled with grape juice, a black cloth napkin, and some pretty gold silverware.
Aren’t those black wine glasses perfect for a Halloween party? Although I filled mine with grape juice, I realized that you could pour practically any color of drink inside and it would look black in those glasses.
Down the center of the table were my favorite black candelabra that I pull out every year for Halloween from World Market. They add so much spookiness to the table and look like they came straight out of the haunted mansion, don’t they? Tall white taper candles continue the table’s black and white theme.
One of my favorite Halloween scores at World Market this season was the big ceramic cauldron chiller. It is heavy-duty and sturdy and holds a big bag of ice and a handful of drinks for the little (and not so little) ghouls and goblins.
Cold bottles of Dr. Jekyll’s Pepper Elixir and the Salem Sisters Bad Apple Soda were placed inside, ready to be devoured by the creatures of the night.
Hungry witches and wizards could feast on our stunning Halloween cheese board. Cheese boards are a great way to feed a crowd and allows everyone to try a variety of food.
I started with the larger cheese board basics on a slate cheese board, like some tasty crackers, pepper salami, smoked gouda cheese, and green olives, all from World Market.
Then I added in some fruit- fresh pomegranates, picked from my tree in the backyard, add a beautiful deep color to the platter.
Sliced red pears, blackberries, and kiwi berries (you’ve GOT to try these) all added a visual and delicious depth to the cheese board.
Almonds, roasted sunflower seeds, and fresh rosemary add another variety of flavors for guests, and are fun to mix and match with the other flavors on the board.
Since this was for a Halloween table, I tried to stick with seasonal flavors in deep, dark colors to add to the moody Gothic Halloween dinner party.
I hope you’ve enjoyed our frightfully fun Gothic Halloween dinner party. It’s these fun traditions that my family and I look forward to every Halloween season.
