With the summer wedding season upon us, I’m thrilled to share with you a stunning blue candy buffet for an ocean themed wedding, or any other event or theme that you can dream up!
Blue is the perfect color for summer, isn’t it?
Blue ocean waves, blue skies, and crystal blue lake water shimmering in the sun.
Because of my love for the ocean (one of the perks of living in San Diego), I wanted to create a gorgeous wedding candy buffet in blue, turquoise, and mint, to mimic the soft colors of the ocean.
I created this lovely blue candy buffet to inspire you and give you ideas for your wedding, birthday, baby shower, or party!
Blue Candy Buffet Details
To create a candy buffet, you’ll first need containers.
Glass apothecary jars are beautiful, but at around $30 each they can get expensive.
A cheaper way to create a lovely wedding candy buffet is by buying one or two glass jars for variety, then using less expensive clear candy buffet cylinders.
These cylinders come in a set of 6 in three different sizes for only $9.49 at Oriental Trading!
These are such a great deal and look great on a candy buffet table since they are clear and let the colorful candy colors show through.
Since our blue candy buffet needed to be portable and easy to take to the beach, I used my white Ikea table that comes with a table top and legs that can easily screw on and off.
It made transporting the table very easy!
The lovely white tablecloth that blew so perfectly in the ocean breeze is actually two thin sheer curtain panels that I also bought from Ikea.
They are light and thin and have that breezey, airy quality to them that works perfectly with an ocean wedding.
To give the table a little variety and added color, I added some pretty ocean serving plates and a large blue bowl under some of the candy dishes.
I love how the blue color and shape resembles ocean waves.
Mint buttermints filled this cylinder, and the small sparkling white chocolate candies underneath look just like precious little pearls or bubbles on top of the wave.
The other matching cylinder was filled with shimmer blue gumballs.
Mini starfish hot glued onto some of the clear cylinders reinforced the nautical ocean theme.
I also glued the starfish onto the front of the mint candy bags and on top of some darling clear favor boxes.
Each box was filled with candies, but my favorites are the gum gems because they look just like little aquarium rocks, especially with the starfish on top!
Two matching glass apothecary jars were filled with light blue jelly beans.
Large white shells look pretty spread at the base of the jar.
At the center of the table was a piece of real coral with two smaller cylinders behind it.
Each cylinder held light blue rock candy with white sand to hold the candy in place.
I hope you enjoyed our blue candy buffet, perfect for a beach, ocean, or nautical themed wedding.
