Today I’ve got a really quick and easy craft to share with you that your daughters, granddaughters, and little ladies in your life will love- adorable button rings!
Truly, it does NOT get much easier than this. With just a few buttons, some glue, a few ring blanks, and just a few minutes of hands-on time, your girl can be rocking these cute and unique button rings!
These rings are also very inexpensive to make and mass produce, which makes them a great choice for party favors, a party activity, a cute friend gift, or just as a fun craft to do with your daughter. Here’s the easy how-to…
Button Rings:
Supplies:
- Buttons (in various colors, shapes, and sizes)
- Strong adhesive– I used Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue, which worked perfectly!
- Adjustable ring blanks– You can find these at Michael’s.
Directions:
Step 1. Lay out your buttons and start stacking. Find interesting combinations of buttons, mixing different colors, sizes, and shapes, and stack them in groups of two or three.
Step 2. Adhere the top button to the bottom button. For this job, I used Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue, which is an extra thick glue that is made for grabbing items that are hard to hold, like buttons, beads, jewelry, etc. The glue dries clear, so it was a perfect choice for this project. I’m also in love with the new packaging- the top is on the bottom, so that the glue is always ready to use with no waiting or shaking, which I think is just brilliant!
After adhering the small buttons to the larger buttons, I filled the small ring blank top with the adhesive, and then firmly pressed down my glued button stack to adhere. Now for the hard part…. waiting! I placed the rings out of my sight from my daughter and I, so that we weren’t tempted to touch before the glue had completely dried. We left them alone for the day, but you definitely don’t have to wait that long.
Once the rings are dry, it’s time to show them off! The rings blanks are adjustable, which is perfect for those little fingers. You can tighten them up or loosed them depending on the size of the wearer’s fingers.
You could really go crazy with these and make custom rings for different outfits, holidays, events, etc.
Have fun, and happy crafting!
