This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Hershey Company. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am SO excited to share my latest creation with you!  I made the most rich and delicious Chocolate Candy Cane Fudge this week, and today I get to share the recipe with you!

This fudge is the perfect, easy treat to make for all your holiday get-togethers, parties, cookie exchanges, dinners, teacher and neighbor gifts, or for any other reason that you can think of!

My Chocolate Candy Cane Fudge is a breeze to make, just takes a few short minutes, and has a secret ingredient in it that makes it extra special.  Want to know what it is?  Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies.

Chocolate Candy Cane Fudge

When you combine homemade rich chocolate fudge with Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies, then add some crushed candy canes to the top, pure magic happens.

There are three distinct textures to the fudge that make for a truly joyful eating experience.  The softness of the rich fudge that melts in your mouth, the firm texture and cool taste of the Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies, and the crisp crunchy candy cane chunks make this tasty fudge unique!

Easy chocolate peppermint fudge with chocolate chips recipe

Chocolate Candy Cane Fudge

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 36 Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies
  • 4 candy canes

Making fudge with Hershey's products

Step 1.  Unwrap 36 Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies.  This is a great job for your kids to help with!  Add some parchment paper to an 8×8″ pan and lightly spray with cooking spray.

Step 2.  Place the Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies into six rows of six on the parchment paper.

Step 3.  Remove the wrapper from the candy canes and place them in a sealed plastic bag.  Use a rolling pin to crush the the candy canes into small pieces.

Pour the crushed candy into a bowl and set aside.

Step 4.  Combine the chocolate chips, the condensed milk, and the butter in a heavy medium-sized pot.  Cook over low heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture is completely melted.

Step 5.  Remove the pot from the heat, then carefully pour over the prepared pan.  Use a spatula to gently smooth the chocolate so that it covers the Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies.  Sprinkle the candy cane pieces evenly over the top of the fudge.

Gently press down on the candy with your fingers.  Let the fudge sit until set, about 3 hours.

Cut and store in an airtight container.  Makes approximately 48 pieces of delicious rich fudge.

Besides the taste, my favorite thing about this Chocolate Peppermint Fudge is that when you cut the fudge squares, you can see the Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies shapes in the chocolate.  They’re just so cute!

Biting into this Chocolate Candy Cane Fudge is like a party for your tastebuds.  The recipe makes plenty of fudge, too, so you can give some away, as well as tuck a few pieces away for a special treat later.

Start a new tradition and make these with your family!  The Hershey Company has lots of tasty ingredients to help you with your holiday baking.

Happy holidays!

How would this work for Valentine’s Day? Or everyday? Maybe red hots instead of candy canes?

Oooh, that’s a great idea Maria! You could also just make the fudge part without the candy canes and use regular Hershey’s Kisses or no Kisses at all, and then add Red Hots to the top. So smart! If you try it, let me know how it works out! I’m curious how the Red Hots would taste with the chocolate.
