Holiday entertaining is one of my favorite things about Christmas. Today I’m sharing a rustic Christmas buffalo plaid party that I hope will inspire you this season to get creative and throw your own party!
This buffalo plaid party is extra special because of all the handmade touches I added using my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine.
I love how easy it is to personalize party decorations, favors, and food using this incredible machine!
Christmas Buffalo Plaid Party Details
I wanted our buffalo plaid party to be natural and rustic, so I added lots of wood elements like the giant wood slice my uncle made for me and some wood slice platters to hold the cake and drinks.
To add to the natural forest feel of the party, I added some live poinsettia plants, some small pine trees, buffalo check pails filled with pinecones, and an assortment of nuts in their shells on the giant wood slice.
I love the color and warmth that these natural elements add.
Red and white striped peppermints were scattered along the front center of the table to add to the festivity.
At the center of the table was a giant chocolate cake with shaved chocolate chunks on the outside.
I think every party should have chocolate, don’t you?
To decorate the top of the cake, I got some Christmas tree suckers and simply placed them in the top of the cake. SO easy!
love quick and easy party hacks like this that look great but don’t take tons of time to create.
Deer Hot Cocoa Cups
A rustic Christmas buffalo plaid party definitely calls for hot cocoa.
I found these darling buffalo plaid cups with lids and knew I wanted to serve hot drinks in them, but they needed a little something.
To dress them up, I cut some vinyl deer with my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine and put one on the front of each cup.
This was sooo easy and I think those cute deer add so much to the cups and the table.
I can’t get over how easy it is to personalize anything and everything with my Cricut machine.
The sky is truly the limit with what you can do!
You can use the cut file I created for these deer cups by pressing HERE.
You can either cut the deer as is for any project that you like by pressing “Make It”, or if you want to resize or customize it you can do that too by pressing the “Customize” button.
Tree Snack Boxes
I bought the cutest buffalo plaid snack bowls that I knew would look great on the party table filled with a tasty snack mix.
I wanted to personalize these too, so I cut small white modern Christmas trees from white vinyl with my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine and stuck one on the front of each snack box.
Aren’t they cute? Just fill up with snacks and they’re ready to party!
You can get the cut file I created and cut out our own HERE.
Again, you can cut as is or customize them by changing the size, color, cutting, printing, adding text, or doing almost anything you like with them!
This tree did cost me $1.49 to buy, but it was totally worth that dollar and now I can use it any time I like.
I already used them in our hot cocoa gift set too to make this gorgeous modern dish towel for Christmas too!
Merry Banner
I knew that I wanted all things buffalo plaid for this party, so I went hunting for buffalo plaid supplies and found quite a few cool things that worked perfectly with our party.
The “Merry” banner hanging above the table was a $3 Target Dollar Spot score I found, but was just plain buffalo check.
To dress up the banner, I used my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine to cut out some white vinyl letters and two deer and placed them on each piece.
I normally would have used Cricut Iron-On and my Cricut EasyPress, but because I wanted to use the sign again for a non-Christmas party, the white vinyl letters worked perfectly since they are adhesive on the back. 😉
I hope that you enjoyed our rustic Christmas buffalo plaid party!
Cricut makes it SO easy to create the perfect party by creating personalized party decorations, favors, and so much more.
