Cookie mix in a jar gifts are fun, easy, and simple to make in bulk for great neighbor gifts, treats for friends, teacher gifts, or for anyone else you need to buy for this holiday season.
Cookie Mix in a Jar Gift
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 c brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1+ cup of M&M’S® Brand Holiday Milk Chocolate Candies
- Ball® 32oz Wide Mouth Jars (quart size)
- Free printable directions (for lid)
- Free printable tag
Directions:
STEP 1. Make sure to wash and completely dry your Ball® mason jar before using. Add 2 cups of flour to the bottom of the jar. Add 1 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt.
Use a spoon to press down on the flour to make it compact and to create room for the other ingredients.
Step 2. Add 3/4 c brown sugar over the flour, then press down again with the spoon. Add 1/2 cup sugar granulated (white) sugar over the brown sugar, pressing down again with the spoon.
Step 3. Fill the rest of the jar up to the top with red and green M&M’S® Brand Holiday Milk Chocolate Candies. I bought mine at Walmart, along with some M&M’S® White Peppermint, which would also be pretty tasty in a cookie!
Depending on how well you pressed down with the spoon, this should be a little more than a cup of candies.
Step 4. Dress up the jar with these free printable directions that I made to fit the Ball® quart wide-mouth mason jars.
Here are the cookie directions that fit on top of the lid and here are the cookie mix label tags for the front of the jar.
Print each set of labels and cut out. Add the directions to the top of the jar and screw on the lid to hold the directions into place. Punch a hole in the top of the cookie mix label and use some twine to attach it to the top of the jar.
Now your pretty cookie mix in a jar gift is ready for giving!
