If you’ve got a dinosaur lover in your home, then you’re going to love the dinosaur snack mix I’m sharing with you today!
My four-year-old has been absolutely obsessed with all things dinosaur for the last two years. We’ve had dinosaur birthday parties, collected dinosaur toys, read dinosaur books, worn dinosaur t-shirts, and watched dinosaur movies. Yep, he’s a fan alright!
I recently put together a fun movie night for our family to watch one of my son’s favorite movies, The Land Before Time. He knows all of the characters, has most of the DVD’s, and loves to watch the many adventures that the dinosaurs go on.
The Land Before Time: Complete Collection DVD set was just released at Walmart, so you know we had to go shopping and plan a movie party around it! I picked up some Pop Secret at Walmart too to make a yummy dinosaur treat for us to snack on.
For our dinosaur movie night, I created a simple dinosaur snack mix that was a breeze to put together but that my son and other kids were SO excited about!
Feel free to play with the recipe and get creative with adding any other dinosaur-related treats that you can think of! This dinosaur snack mix is also perfect for a dinosaur birthday party, an after-school treat, and more!
Dinosaur Snack Mix Recipe
- Pop Secret popcorn
- Edible chocolate rocks
- Gummy dinosaurs
- Pretzel “sticks”
- Chocolate covered almond “eggs”
Step 1. Pop the microwave popcorn in the microwave according to the directions on the package. Let cool for a few minutes.
Step 2. Place the popcorn in a large bowl. Add in all of the other ingredients- the rocks, dinosaurs, sticks, and eggs. Mix it all up really well, then serve!
I poured our snack mix into our huge wood bowl that I placed on giant tropical leaves from our yard. They fit in perfectly with our dinosaur theme!
My son has tons of realistic-looking dinosaurs, so I placed some of those around the large wood bowl filled with our dinosaur snack mix.
Hey, dinosaurs have to eat too!
And it looks like Mr. T-rex likes eating chocolate eggs as much as I do… which I didn’t think was even possible. 😉
