I’ve always been a sucker for a good garland, and today I’m sharing one that I’ve been working on for an upcoming party- a hot air balloon garland!
I used my trusty Big Shot and the Sizzix Thinlits Square with Accordian Center Folds Card die set. I didn’t use most of the pieces in the set, just the hot air balloon die. This project coordinates really well with my hot air balloon favor boxes that I shared on the Sizzix blog recently.
First, I used the hot air balloon die, made a “Sizzix sandwich” with the multipurpose platform on the bottom, followed by a cutting pad, my paper, the Thinlits die, and the other cutting pad. Then I rolled it all through the Big Shot to get the most adorable little hot air balloons!
There’s the die next to the paper hot air balloon that it cut. I love all of the tiny details!
To make the basket stand out, I also die cut some little orange baskets using the same die, and glued them on to the balloons.
Aren’t they cute?!
To string them up, I used a piece of tape on the back of each one to attach them to a piece of Baker’s twine. So easy!
Happy crafting!
