One of my favorite things to create for a party are the party favors. Sweet little party favor bags are so fun to make and are a great way to thank guests for coming. Today I’m going to show you how to make some easy DIY party favor bags with inkjet transfer paper sheets. I’ll also be sharing a cute free summer printable!
Since summer is almost here, I whipped up a set of colorful muslin drawstring bags that make perfect summer party favors or end of the year friend gifts for the kids. Fill each DIY party favor bag with a sweet treat for instant smiles! Thank you Pro World for sponsoring this post.
I found the inkjet transfer paper at Pro World. They sell all different colors and kinds of vinyl, transfer paper, heat transfers, heat presses, and more. They have TONS of options to choose from so be sure to check them out!
DIY Party Favor Bags with Inkjet Transfer Paper
Supplies:
- Jet-Pro SoftStretch Inkjet Paper
- Drawstring muslin bags (My bags measured about 5″ x 8″)
- Cricut EasyPress, heat press, or iron
- Inkjet printer
Step 1. Find an image that you want to place on your bags. Print the image onto the blank coated side of the inkjet transfer paper. Be sure to mirror the image before printing!
I made some cute bags that say “Have a sweet summer” on them in different bright colors with fun summer objects. Feel free to print and use them below for personal use only. If you’re not sure how to mirror your image before printing, I’m also sharing a mirrored version if you’d like to use that.

Step 2. Once the images have printed, cut out each one.
Place the transfer paper design face down onto the bag where you would like it, then press with heavy pressure at 375 degrees for 30 seconds. Peel hot by quickly pulling down from the top corner and peeling diagonally to the opposite bottom corner.
I used my Cricut EasyPress machine to press the transfer paper design onto the drawstring bags. The EasyPress goes up to 360 degrees so I heated the design for 35 seconds since the temperature was 15 degrees cooler and it worked perfectly!
Cover the bag with parchment paper and press again for 10 seconds. This makes the surface smooth and transfers the design deeper into the material.
Aren’t they cute? These colorful bags are definitely swoon-worthy, and literally took just a few minutes to make!
Think of all of the fun ways you could customize these DIY party favor bags. You could make personalized party favor bags with names or photographs on them, make a whole bunch for a wedding favor, create a Tooth Fairy bag for your child, personalize a special bag for a child’s collection (like marbles, rocks, etc.), and so much more!
You can use the inkjet transfer sheets on other fabric too, like t-shirts and bags. There are SO many possibilities with this product!
If you have a Cricut or Silhouette machine you should check out the selection of vinyl and other supplies from Pro World. There are so many cool products to choose from in a huge variety of colors.
