I know it’s not Thanksgiving yet, and I’ve been trying to restrain myself from posting all things Christmas. Today, however, I’m giving in and sharing an adorable DIY personalized Christmas sack for kids. A Christmas sack is a great way to prettily package up those Christmas gifts, and is even more fun since it is personalized with your child’s name on it.
If you have a Cricut machine, you can whip up one of these cute diy personalized Christmas sacks in just a few minutes. I’m sharing the cut file with you too, so you can just cut and iron to make one. Easy!

Supplies:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
or Cricut Maker
- Cricut standard mat
- Cricut red foil iron on
- Cricut gray iron on
- Cricut silver glitter iron on
- White drawstring bag
- Cricut EasyPress
or iron
Step 1. Open up my Christmas sack design in Design Space. Erase the name and personalize with your child’s name.
Follow the prompts to cut each piece of the design on a Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker
*** Make sure to print the “mirror” version so that everything will be facing the right way when you iron. ***
Step 2. Use your weeding tool to remove the iron-on material from around the design.
Cut down each piece and arrange on your white drawstring bag where you would like it.
You can use any size white drawstring bag that you like. My friends at Oriental Trading sent me a set of white drawstring backpacks that worked perfectly for this. The best part is that they only cost $19.99 for 12 bags, which is a fabulous deal!
If you’d like to order from Oriental Trading, we’ll both get $10 off plus free shipping on $49 when you click on my referral link. Score! They have TONS of amazing Christmas supplies, decorations, gifts, and more.
Step 3. Follow the directions on the packaging to iron the design onto your bag, OR you can do this the easier way with Cricut’s new EasyPress. The Cricut EasyPress is one of those machines that you wonder how you ever got along without!
The EasyPress machine takes the place of an iron or big heat press. The iron-on material adheres MUCH better with the EasyPress and it is a dream to use in around 30 seconds. It’s a great way to add iron-on vinyl to t-shirts, pillow covers, and more!
In about 30 seconds your design will be permanently placed on your fabric, even after washing.
Just follow the enclosed EasyPress directions to know what temperature and time settings to set the EasyPress for, since it will vary depending on what fabric and which type of iron-on you will be using.
Step 4. Once you’ve used the EasyPress on the design, just wait a few seconds, then lift each section up carefully to remove the clear plastic. All done!
Aren’t you proud? You’ve just created your first diy personalized Christmas sack!
Now you can fill the gift bag with small presents and place under the tree, or wait until Christmas Eve and Santa’s arrival to fill. Either way, I can guarantee that your child will love their own personalized Christmas gift bag.

Great idea for a canvas gift sack. I like that you only have to use a few colors. You mentioned a shared file. Where should I look for this file? Thanks.
