This tutorial today is SO embarrassingly easy, I almost didn’t share it with you. These football coasters are SO easy, and they cost me absolutely nothing to make. Easy AND free? Sounds like my kind of craft!
With the Super Bowl coming soon, now is the perfect time to make these cute coasters. When I was buying some Astroturf at Home Depot for a fun project coming up next week, I saw some cute little squares of Astroturf. They were already cut into perfect squares, and I thought that they were the perfect size to put drinks on. Read on for the easy directions!
DIY Super Bowl Football Field Coasters
Supplies:
- Free sample squares of Astroturf (found at home improvement stores- mine came from Home Depot)
- Cork paper, felt, or fabric (or anything else soft that will protect your wood from getting scratched)
- Scissors
- Glue gun
Step 1. The Astroturf squares are already the perfect coaster size, so you can leave them as is. The bottom, however, might be a bit scratchy, so you will want to trace your Astroturf square onto some cork paper, a piece of felt, fabric, etc.
Step 2. Cut out the traced piece, then use a glue gun to glue the paper or fabric to the bottom of the grass. Now it is nice and smooth, and your furniture will be protected.
Now you’re ready for the big game!
Set these football field coasters around the room, and guests will love them. These are very functional, FREE, and SO easy to make- give them a try!
