The colors, scents, and tastes of spring are everywhere.
The soft pastels, gorgeous blooming flowers, and freshly cut green grass, and warmer temperatures are just a few of the reasons I love spring.
I’m excited to share with you an Easter nest place setting and favor DIY I created this week for our Easter table.
This Easter nest place setting looks very realistic, just like a fragile bird nest plucked from the blossoming trees.
Each nest takes only a few minutes to create with a few basic craft supplies, and adds so much to an Easter brunch or spring dinner party table.
I placed my mini nests for Easter over pastel napkins that were placed on stacked plates.
They are so lovely, and you won’t believe how easy they are to make!
Because I want my guests to feel special, I’ve also tucked inside an extra treat- an eos lip balm or eos lotion inside each nest.
The lip balms look just like pastel colored Easter eggs, so I placed one inside for each person.
The guys at the table will have their nests filled with Easter egg candy. 😉
Easter Nest Place Setting and Favor
Supplies: (may contain affiliate links)
- SuperMoss green moss mat
- Spanish moss
- hot glue
- small round bowl or large muffin tin
- eos lip balm (eos lotion works too)
Directions:
Step 1. Cut a strip of the green moss mat a few inches wide.
Cut the strip into rectangle shapes.
It doesn’t have to be perfect!
Step 2. Place the moss strips green side down into the bowl and along the edges so they overlap slightly.
Use hot glue to carefully glue each piece onto the next.
Glue the last strip down to the bottom of the nest, moss side up.
Step 3. Pull out your glued nest base from the small bowl.
Glue any additional areas that might need some extra glue.
Now you have your basic nest shape.
Step 4. Now it’s time to cover the backing of the moss sheets.
Use hot glue to glue small pieces of Spanish moss onto the nest.
Glue pieces to the inside, as well as the outside of the nest.
I also pulled a few pieces off some of the extra moss sheets to add some more green to my nests.
Now all you need to do is add in the eos lip balm!
When you’re setting up your Easter table this spring, just add a pretty Easter nest place setting to the top or sides of each plate.
Guests will appreciate your thoughtfulness and will love using their eos and decorating their home with their pretty new nests.
A lovely charcuterie platter is the perfect appetizer for family to nibble on before Easter brunch or dinner is served.
Happy Easter!
