As much as I love Christmas, I sometimes get wrapped up in all of the excitement and fun of Santa Claus, parties, fun family outings, etc. that it’s easy to lose focus on why it is that we celebrate Christmas. I created some free printable Christmas advent scripture cards that I am going to be using with my family this December to remind us about the spiritual side of Christmas.
Our family already has a Christmas advent calendar that I made a few years ago that I fill with wooden activity coins each year, so I wanted our Christmas scripture advent calendar to be a bit different.
I made 24 cute little envelopes with my Sizzix Big Shot and pattern paper (the tutorial is on the Sizzix blog later today), and added them to the DIY chicken wire frame that I recently made from an ugly old picture frame that I found at Good Will.
I hung up four rows of Baker’s twine, tied them to the chicken wire, then placed each envelope flap over the Baker’s twine and closed the envelope with washi tape.
These scripture cards can be used with ANY advent calendar, or even by themselves as a simple reminder of the reason for the season.
Simply print and cut the Christmas advent scripture cards. Then every day from December 1st-December 25th you can enjoy reading a few verses about Christ and his birth, as well as his life on earth.
You can download the advent scripture cards below:
Enjoy!
