It just doesn’t get much cuter than mini hamburger cookies! With Memorial Day in two weeks and summer so close I can almost taste it, I’m sharing a super fun mini hamburger cookies treat recipe that is perfect for all the upcoming holidays and entertaining you’ll be doing.
These mini hamburger cookies are adorable, taste delicious, and are so easy that the kids can help too!
To make these tasty snacks, I headed to my local Stater Bros. and picked up some ingredients.
I easily found most of what I was looking for at the Stater Bros. Snack Center, a display located in the store with some of our favorite Nabisco and Coca-Cola products. I bought some Nilla Wafers, Family Size Triscuit Crackers, OREO Fudge Cremes, and a 12-pack of Coca-Cola Zero™.
Mini Hamburger Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
- Nabisco Nilla Wafers
- OREO Fudge Creme Cookies
- Shredded coconut
- Frosting
- Red, yellow, and green food coloring
- Sesame seeds (optional)
- Honey (optional)
Directions:
Step 1. Use a knife to spread a very thin layer of honey on a Nilla Wafer.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on the top, then repeat for as many mini burger cookies as you would like. This step is optional, but definitely makes the cookie buns look more realistic.
Step 2. Place some frosting in two small bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl and yellow to the other, then stir to make the frosting “ketchup” and “cheese.”
Cut a small slit in the corner of a plastic sandwich bag, put some red frosting inside, then piped a red frosting circle around the edge of the bottom cookie bun. Place an OREO Fudge Creme cookie on top for the hamburger patty, then press down slightly.
Step 3. Using the same method above, pipe some yellow frosting on top of the cookie meat patty.
I tried making a square shape to look like a slice of cheese, like in the picture, but it ended up looking better when I made a circle with it instead, like I did with the red frosting.
Step 4. Place 1/4 cup shredded coconut in a plastic sandwich bag, then add some green food coloring. Seal up the bag and shake! Now you’ve got a bag of sweet lettuce for your mini burger cookie snacks.
Sprinkle some of the coconut lettuce on top of the frosting cheese, then add a little dollop of frosting to the middle of the bottom underside of the sesame seed bun cookie to make it all stick better.
Add the bun to the top and these mini hamburger cookies are ready to serve!
Because you can’t have burgers without an ice cold drink, I served up these burger cookies with some refreshing Coke Zero. Cold, refreshing, AND zero calories? Yes please!
