It doesn’t get much better than OREO cookie balls. They’re rich, chocolate-y, and so delicious!
I recently made some OREO cookie balls using the standard OREO cookie balls recipe, but this time I added some gorgeous organic, edible flowers to the top of them to take it up a notch.
The result is beautiful and colorful OREO cookie balls that are perfect for spring, parties, Mother’s Day, and more! OREO cookie balls are great to make year round, and I love to customize them for the different seasons and holidays.
These OREO cookie balls may look sophisticated and difficult, but they are a breeze to make.
OREO Cookie Balls with Edible Flowers
Ingredients:
- 1 pkg. (8 oz.) Philadelphia brick cream cheese, softened
- 36 OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 3 cups)
- 4 pkg. (4 oz. each) semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
- Optional Ingredient- Organic edible flowers
I bought my OREO cookies at Walmart. They’ve got quite the selection!
Make It!
STEP 1. MIX cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended.
STEP 2. SHAPE into 48 (1-inch) balls. Freeze 10 min. Dip balls in melted chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan.
STEP 3. CUSTOMIZE it with your own ingredient additions or decorative skills.
STEP 4. REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm. Share and enjoy!
So here’s where I got creative. After I dipped each ball in chocolate, I added a real organic edible flower to the top of each OREO cookie ball. Floating Petals Confetti has lovely colorful edible flowers you can choose from, and they sent me some of my favorites to make these sweet treats!
The wet chocolate made the flower stick onto the top perfectly!
I used edible rose petals, edible violas, and edible bachelor buttons flowers. Aren’t they gorgeous?
I won’t tell you how many photos I took of these beauties, so let’s just say that it was hard to narrow it down to my favorite photos.
These OREO cookie balls with edible flowers are my new favorite treat, and are great to have around the house for parties (these be perfect for a tea party), special gifts (like Mother’s Day), or just for a bite-sized yummy treat. You can also freeze OREO cookie balls for a homemade treat in minutes. YUM!
