Popsicle Stick Bracelets

Did you know that you can bend popsicle sticks to make cute popsicle stick bracelets?  I’m so excited to share this easy and cheap craft with you today!

Popsicle Stick Bracelets- Cheap, easy, and fun!

These are SO easy, and cost just pennies each.  They are the perfect craft to do with your kids, or as a camp, church, or school craft because they can be made so quickly… and did I mention that they’re so cheap to make?! 😉

There’s not much hand-on time to make these, but there is some hands-off waiting time involved, so keep that in mind if you’d like to make these.

Popsicle Stick Bracelets

  • Popsicle sticks (I like the wider ones best)
  • Washi tape, markers, paint, stickers, rhinestones, or anything else you’d like to embellish with
  • Cups and glasses that are the same width as you would like your bracelets to be

Boil the water to make popsicle stick bracelets

  1.  Bring a medium/large pot of water to a boil.  Boil the popsicle sticks in the water for an hour.  After an hour, turn the heat off.

Popsicle sticks bent in a glass

  1.  Remove one stick from the water using tongs, and place on a dish towel.  When the stick is cool enough to handle, hold onto each end and slowly bend.  Keep bending the wood slowly until it is the desired bracelet shape.

Place the stick in a cup to hold its shape- the smaller the diameter of the cup, the smaller the bracelet, the wider the cup, the wider the bracelet.

Popsicle stick bracelet directions

  1.  Leave the bent popsicle sticks in the glasses/cups overnight, and until they are completely dry.  Once completely dry, remove from the glass, and decorate- this is the fun part!

We made it really easy on ourselves and wrapped washi tape around the bracelet, and then filed away the excess tape from the sides with a nail file.  Much less messy than paint, and faster too!

If you’d like to paint, though, that’s totally okay too!  You could also stick or glue on rhinestones, stickers, or use markers to decorate as well.  Glitter would be fun too!

Aren’t they cute?  I made about 20 at one time, so now I have a little stash of them to pull out for my kids to decorate when they complain that there’s nothing to do.  Take that summer boredom!

Looks like a fun thing to do… but will the washi tape peel off the bracelets? Did you find that happen, or did you use extra adhesive?

I love this idea, however I can’t get my bracelets to be completely round. Any hints?
