With temperatures in the early 100’s this week where I am in So Cal, I’m dreaming about the delicious Pound Cake and Peaches Sundaes I made last week.
In my mind, peaches and basil can never do wrong, and when you combine them and add them to Breyers ice cream, it’s nothing short of magic!
Breyers has partnered with Chef Antonia Lofaso to create this tasty recipe that I’m sharing with you today. It’s simple to make, takes just a few minutes, uses fresh ingredients, and tastes SO good! The delicious fresh flavors of these sundaes are what I imagine summer to taste like.
Pound Cake and Peaches Sundaes
- 2 fresh peaches, diced
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. thinly sliced fresh basil leaves
- 4 (1/4-inch thick) pound cake slices
- 1 cup Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
Mix peaches, lemon juice, sugar and basil in a small bowl.
To make each sundae, place a slice of toasted pound cake on a plate, then top with a 1/4 cup scoop of Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream and cover generously with macerated peaches.
The fresh basil and peaches flavor go perfectly with the creamy taste of Breyer’s ice cream.
Did you know that Breyers Natural Vanilla is America’s #1 vanilla ice cream? I’m sure it’s because all Breyers vanilla is real and from sustainably farmed, Rainforest Alliance Certified™ vanilla beans. Breyers uses high quality ingredients and their Natural Vanilla made with fresh cream, sugar and milk.
Breyers uses milk and cream from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones, which makes me love Breyer’s even more than before! Suppliers of other ingredients (like cookies, candies & sauces) may not be able to make this pledge, and the FDA states that no significant difference has been shown between dairy derived from rBST-treated and non-rBST-treated cows.
Happy eating!
