I’m pretty sure there is no better food combination better than that of peanut butter + chocolate.
The two flavors were made for each other, and complement one another so well.
And when you throw popcorn in the mix to create Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Popcorn?!
Well, I’m pretty sure the snack gods will be smiling down on you.
This tantalizing treat is easy to make thanks to the new Reese’s Spreads.
Chocolate and peanut butter come together in a spreadable form that is perfect for spreading and snacking!
Reese’s Spreads taste amazingly just like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, which makes me pretty darn excited.
Toast, waffles, apples bananas (mmmm….), pretzels, and vanilla wafers are only a few of the many things that you can spread the new Reese’s Spreads on… the possibilities are endless!
I bought my ingredients at Walmart to make this delicious snack.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Popcorn:
- 10 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup kernels)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup Karo syrup (light corn syrup)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup Reese’s Spreads
Step 1. Place popped popcorn on a large foil-lined baking sheet or in a roasting pan.
Heat the butter, Karo syrup, and salt in the microwave in a medium microwave-safe bowl on high heat for 3 minutes, stirring after each minute.
Heat for another 2 minutes more.
Step 2. Stir in the baking soda and vanilla, and pour over the popcorn.
Mix until thoroughly combined and covered. Let cool.
Step 3. Melt the Reese’s Spreads in the microwave at 50% heat for 1 1/2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds.
Drizzle evenly over the popcorn, and allow some time to set.
Now it’s time to indulge.
This treat can be a bit messy, but is SO worth the chocolatey fingers….. all the better for licking! 😉
If you’re feeling extra nice for the day, you might even share with your family or friends.
Might.
But if you don’t share, I completely understand.
We’re talking peanut butter and chocolate here, I get it.
Sometimes it’s okay not to share, right?
