You might know by now that we are BYU football fanis in our home. I graduated from BYU years ago, and we love watching their games each fall and cheering them on.
We love to make yummy food to eat while we watch our games. We recently tried something new, and it tasted amazing! We grilled some beef sliders and smoked sausage, and made barbecue smoked sausage sliders with cheese, lettuce, and french fried onions…. SO delicious!
The barbecue sauce with the grilled meat and the crunchy onions was the perfect combination, and even the kiddos couldn’t wait to dig in!

- Ground beef, shaped into small patties
- Smoked sausage
- Cheddar cheese slices
- Slider buns or rolls
- Barbecue sauce
- French fried onions
- Lettuce
First we grilled the ground beef and a long link of smoked sausage. Once the meat was juicy and thoroughly cooked, we removed it from the heat, and cut the sausage into smaller pieces to fit the buns and match the size of the meat.
Then we placed the beef, sausage, and cheese onto the bun, followed by the french fried onions, lettuce, and barbecue sauce. It was all a match made in heaven, and tasted amazing!!
To go with the BYU colors, we used blue SOLO® Squared plastic plates, bowls, and the classic red SOLO® Squared plastic cups. Their plasticware is SO thick and durable that I don’t have to worry about the plates getting soggy or weak. Plus, they match my team colors, which I love!
Tailgating with SOLO® never tasted so good! Be sure to check out SOLO’s Pinterest page for tons of fun celebration and holiday ideas.
Happy eating!
