Thank you Walmart and Coca-Cola for sponsoring this Sprite Fruit Cups recipe.  All ideas and opinions are always 100% my own.  #EffortlessMeals #CollectiveBias

With summer in full swing, we’ve been spending a lot of time at the beach as a family.  It’s always cooler on the coast than it is at our house, and the kids play for hours on the sand and in the water.

Sprite Fruit Cups. So refreshing and delicious!

We recently took our dinner to the beach and had a nice picnic.  I created some Sprite fruit cups that were so yummy that I wanted to share with you!  These lemon lime fruit cups were so easy to make and tasted so refreshing at the beach.  We all loved them!

Sprite Fruit Cups

To make them, I bought some fresh fruit and a 2-Liter bottle of Sprite at Walmart.  I decided to make two different varieties of fruit cups- some filled with melon and the other filled with berries.

Sprite Fruit Cups

First I cut up fresh watermelon and cantaloupe into chunks, and then combined them in a large bowl.

Next I cut the green tops off some strawberries, and rinsed them alongside some fresh blueberries.

I added the melons to some clear plastic cups, then the berries in their own plastic cups, then covered them all and placed them in the fridge until we were ready to go.  I also placed the 2-Liter of Sprite in the fridge to get cool.

Once we got to the beach and were ready to eat, I filled each fruit cup with Sprite.  The fruit cups were a mix between a drink and a cups of fruit.  The fruit absorbed some of the Sprite and made it even juicier and sweeter.

After we ate the fruit out of the cups, we drank the Sprite.  These cups were SO good and a cinch to make- I will definitely be making these again!

Because it gets so hot here in SoCal and I didn’t want to cook dinner in a hot kitchen, I also picked up a fully-cooked Marketside rotisserie chicken.  It was hot and fresh (the time on the side said that it had been made just minutes ago!) and is a great meal starter for the summer (or anytime).

Marketside at Walmart

I found the Marketside rotisserie chickens at the very front of the store near the registers, so it was easy to grab on the way to checkout.

On my next Walmart trip I plan on picking up the Marketside pizzas that are easy to grill.  I’m always up for an effortless meal that doesn’t heat up my kitchen!

I added a few chips, some cold bottles of Sprite, and we had a delicious, easy dinner!  Less time in the kitchen means more time with those that I love.

And really, can you beat the view?

Happy summer!
