Ugly Christmas Sweater Treat Bags
Supplies:
- Fabric that has a sweater pattern
- Printable sweater template (optional)
- Fabric scissors
- Hot glue **
- Ribbon
Step 1. You can draw your own sweater template or use the one I came up with. If you’d like to use mine, press here.
Cut out the template, then trace the template onto the back side of the fabric.
Step 2. Cut around the sweater lines you traced, then cut out your sweater.
Repeat for the back piece of the sweater, making sure to flip the template around so both sides match when they’re placed back to back.
Step 3. Place the two sweater pieces on top of each other with the pattern sides facing out.
Cut a piece of ribbon to make a handle.
Add a dot of glue onto each end of the ribbon.
Place each end of the ribbon on each side of the sweater to form a handle.
Step 4. Doing a section at a time, add hot glue around the inside edges of the sweater front and back to adhere them together.
Glue all the way around the entire sweater EXCEPT around the rounded neck.
Do not glue the neck!
This hole is where the chocolates will go.
Step 5. Fill up your sweater with some chocolate to match those sweaters.
I also added some Reese’s Miniatures Holiday Foils to the sweaters- they look like decorated Christmas trees in their green packaging with colored lights!
Now comes the really fun part- giving these cute ugly Christmas sweater treat bags away.
Get ready for smiles, then a great big hug when they see what’s inside their sweaters.
Happy holidays!
