Learn how to make pretty egg candles for Easter in minutes out of your broken egg shells!
I don’t like wasting things, so when my sweet toddler son dropped my precious marbled eggs I made, I knew I need to make something with them.
These lovely Easter egg candles are the result!
Making these candles was surprisingly easy, and all I had to buy were the wicks.
Easy Egg Candles
These candles would make great spring or Easter home decor, and would be fun to light on your Easter table.
Of course you don’t have to have marbled eggs to make an egg candle.
To give even simpler, leave the eggs white or brown (or multi-colored like our chickens lay).
Feel free to just dye the eggs as usual using whatever colors you would like.
You can even dye eggs with cabbage to make them a beautiful deep indigo color.
So many choices!
Did you know that you can make egg geodes from egg shells too?
Egg Candle Supplies
- Plain, dyed, or marbled clean egg shells (learn how to blow out the egg insides)
- An old candle (or candle wax)
- Candle wicks – I used 3 1/2″, but 3″ wicks would be fine too
- Small amount of clay or play dough (to plug up the hole in the egg bottom)
- A pot (don’t worry, it won’t touch the wax)
- Funnel
Prep the Eggs
Blow out and die your eggs if you plan on doing so, or just leave plain.
Melt the Wax
Pour the Wax Into the Egg Shell
