Make an essential oil room spray for Christmas in just two minutes that will make your home smell amazing and just like the holidays. It’s just doesn’t feel quite like Christmas without those familiar holiday scents we look forward to each year. The invigorating smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree, the cozy, spicy smell of cinnamon and cloves, and the brisk and refreshing smell of peppermint are just a few of my favorite scents for this time of year.

How to make essential oil room spray for Christmas

Today I’m sharing with you how to make a DIY essential oil room spray (actually, three different room sprays) that incorporates the most beloved smells of Christmas into a natural, non-toxic homemade room spray that you will love.

Bonus: It takes just two minutes to whip up a batch! Make a holiday scented essential oil room spray for everyone on your Christmas list. They make great stocking stuffers, are the perfect addition to a gift basket, and are the perfect gift for coworkers, friends, etc.

Make one or make 100. An essential oil room spray is simple to make just one or in large batches, so let’s get making!

Double bonus: I made some free printable labels that I just love! They’re so cute and take this homemade room spray to the next level.

How to Make Essential Oil Room Spray

Ingredients and Supplies:

  • Distilled water
  • Witch hazel
  • Essential oils (I use Simply Earth oils)
  • 2 oz. Spray bottles
  • Printable white vinyl (optional, but recommended if you want to print the free labels)

Step 1. Add the specific essential oils for the DIY room spray that you want to make to 2 oz. glass spray bottles. I’ve listed the easy recipes for you below.

Swirl the essential oils around in the spray bottle to mix them up.

Step 2. Fill the bottle halfway with witch hazel. The witch hazel helps bind the oil to the water so that the scent lasts longer.

Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. You don’t want to use tap water because there are impurities in it that will lessen the shelf life of your DIY essential oil room spray.

Step 3. Optional. Print out the free printable labels I made to fit the spray bottles perfectly. I like to print my labels onto white printable Cricut vinyl because it is already sticky on the back and has the perfect surface for an essential oil room spray.

Once you’ve downloaded the printables through the above link, just cut them out with scissors and add to each bottle.

My favorite thing of theirs is the monthly subscription box. It’s like Christmas every month when I get my box!

With the Box of the Month Subscription you get a box every month filled with:

  • 4 Essential oils (full-sized)
  • 6 Natural recipe cards
  • Containers so put your recipes in
  • Extra supplies to make the recipes

Bath salts recipe

Last month I made these Chai Tea Bath Salts that smell just heavenly! I loved their room spray recipe for this month and used the recipe as a base to create my own scents.

Don’t forget to use code MAKELIFELOVELYFREE when signing up to get a $40 gift card with your first subscription box AND free bonus box!

You can use the $40 gift card on another purchase or your next box.  YAY!!

Simply Earth monthly subscription box

Everything you see above came in my box this month.  You really can’t beat the price and it sure makes for a happy mail day and lots of DIY recipes and ideas.  I love the labels for each product and DIY recipe.

Before I learned about Simply Earth I had bought essential oils but didn’t do much with them because I wasn’t confident using them. I’m getting more confident experimenting and learning more about what each oil does and how to incorporate them into my daily life. I’m having so much fun in the process!

I’m happy to be adding more natural products into my life too and to know that I’m creating a healthier environment for my family.

Happy holidays!
