The summer sun is shining bright, which means it’s time for mermaid parties, tropical parties, and all things nautical… aka my favorite time of the year! I recently made a delicious and oh so pretty mermaid drink that matched our mermaid party colors perfectly.
This easy mermaid punch takes just TWO ingredients and about two minutes to make… seriously. It’s also one of the prettiest drinks ever!
How to Make a Colorful Mermaid Drink
Pretty pinks and blues in the mermaid punch blend into each other to add a third color- purple.
This mermaid punch bubbles and froths just like the ocean, and has such a delicious, sweet, irresistible taste.
Impress your family and friends with this frothy mermaid drink at your next party, dinner, or make it just for fun!
Just be sure to have extra ingredients on hand, because this party punch is going to be a BIG hit!
Mermaid Drink Ingredients
You’ll only need two ingredients for this mermaid party punch-
- cotton candy ice cream
- lemon lime soda
Cotton Candy Ice Cream
I buy our cotton candy ice cream at Rite Aid, and it’s the Thrifty brand. The ice cream is a very colorful and fun bright pink and blue, the perfect colors for all things mermaid!
Lemon Lime Soda
The lemon lime soda can be Sprite, Sierra Mist, 7UP, or even the generic store brand of lemon lime soda. They all will work great for this party punch.
How to Make Mermaid Punch
Make sure that the cotton candy ice cream and lemon lime soda is VERY cold. I put my ice cream into my deep freezer and it gets really cold.
I make sure that the soda has been in a very cold fridge for hours before making this mermaid drink.
If the ingredients are really cold it means that the ice cream will stay cold for longer and won’t melt right away into the soda.
Fill Up Your Punch Bowl
Pour the soda into your punch bowl and fill until it’s near the top. It’s best to do this right before guests arrive or when you’re ready to serve the punch.
Scoop It Up
Add as many cotton candy ice cream scoops as you’d like on top of the soda.
I used a really cool shell punch bowl and ended up adding about 10 scoops of ice cream.
How Much Soda and Ice Cream Should I Use?
The amount of soda and ice cream you use will depend on the size of your punch bowl and how many people you will be serving.
A two liter bottle and one carton of ice cream were just the right amount for our mermaid drink served in our lovely shell punch bowl you can see below!
Isn’t it soooo pretty? I love the pink, blue, and purple colors of this delicious drink.
I dare you to find a mermaid or merman who doesn’t love this sweet mermaid drink.
My kids were obsessed with our mermaid punch and I bet your will be too.
It really is an impressive drink that really couldn’t be easier to make!
