Make a beautiful witch boots decoration for Halloween in just 10 minutes with this fun Grandin Road dupe!
I just love decorating for Halloween every fall.
My Halloween style is classic, classy, Gothic haunted mansion, and not too scary.
Kind of like the gorgeous potion bottles I made- spooky, dark, and cool, but not too scary!
When I was shopping at the thrift store for a couple frames (for some Halloween projects I’ll be sharing soon), I saw a pair of black boots.
They looked similar to vintage Victorian witch shoes and I just had to have them!
Witch Boots Decoration
I knew exactly what I would make with them- a dark flower arrangement that I would make right inside the shoes.
Fall flowers in pretty oranges, white, and deep purples would look stunning inside these boots.
Don’t miss our popular fake fire prop and witches cauldron DIY!
Grandin Road Halloween Dupe
Grandin Road (a very upscale shop that sells amazing Halloween decorations) has something similar called the Victorian Witch Boot Planter that costs a whopping $119 (currently on sale for $95.20).
No thanks!
I knew I could make this Halloween decoration for much much less.
I bought the boots for $12.99 from Goodwill, then used supplies I had in my craft stash to make this Halloween centerpiece for under $15.
That’s over $100 less than their version!

Witches Boots Supplies
Black Boots
If you don’t already own black boots that can pass as witch boots, then check a few thrift stores first. I lucked out and found a pair at the first store!
Foam Balls
You will need two foam balls that fit inside the tops of the boots down to the bottom somewhat snugly. This will be what holds the flowers in place.
Faux Fall Florals
You can use artificial flowers that you already own or use this as an excuse to pick up some new ones! I bought my fall flowers, berries, and picks a year or two ago on sale at Hobby Lobby.
Add the Foam Balls
First, you will add one foam ball to the inside of each black witch boot.
Push each ball all the way down to the bottom to get it ready for putting the fall flowers inside.
Prep the Fall Flowers
Get the flowers ready for our witch boots flower arrangement by cutting off any tags.
Next, fluff up the flowers and bend the wire stems a bit to fluff them up and make them look nice and full.
We don’t want flat flowers.
Arrange the Flowers into the Witch Boots
Now comes the fun part- adding the pretty flowers!
Make sure that you use flowers and berries in a variety of colors, sizes, lengths, and textures.
This will make your Halloween floral arrangement look much more interesting.
Go Big
First, you want to start with the biggest, bushiest pieces that will go in the back.
Measure
Hold up a flower stem next to a boot so that the bottom of the stem is even with the bottom of the boot.
Decide how tall you want to that piece to be inside the boot, then use wire cutters to trim off the end.
Insert the Flowers
Now add the trimmed piece to the back inside of the boot.
Press it down into the foam ball and make sure it is nice and secure.
If you have another matching piece, place it in the other boot.
Both boots don’t have to be identical, but you want the height and colors to be as balanced as possible.
Keep adding your artificial flowers and picks until your arrangement looks nice and full and you love the way it looks.
Now stand back, admire, and pat yourself on the back for making a stunning Halloween centerpiece for so cheap!
Go find the perfect place in your home for your new witch shoes flower arrangement, and enjoy.
Maybe even snack on some of our favorite creepy witches fingers (from mozzerella sticks!), pumpkin seeds, or Halloween dirt cups. Yummy!
Happy crafting!
